How To Pick The Best Martial Arts School, NOT “The Best” Martial Arts Style
• The video “Defunkin’ The Funk About How To Pick A Martial Arts School” is NOT about picking a particular style over another or finding “the best” style of martial arts
• Rather, it’s core focus is on how to pick a good school over a not so good school
• One of the many goals is to help the novice in picking a good teacher as well as the right school the first time
I would like to thank you all for the support you have shown throughout the years and to those who have purchased the video “Defunkin’ The Funk About How To Pick A Martial Arts School”. At this time, I would like to clarify a point that has been brought to my attention through my Blog-a-sphere.
This video is not about picking a particular “style” over another. One could look at, for instance, a Chinese martial art compared to a Korean martial art. Perhaps another example is picking a hard style over a soft style of martial art. And the list goes on and on.
Rather, its core focus is on how to pick a good school over a not so good school
One of the many goals is to help the novice in picking a good teacher as well as the right school the first time
In my experience with young people, if they get it wrong the first time the young will cop an attitude such as, “been there, done that,” and that means that the martial arts as a whole has lost a potential dedicated student. For without dedicated students to teach, where will the arts end up?
Time after time, I have seen people produce a long list of the schools in the area that they advocate for themselves. This might be what a person thinks is a good school for them. What is wrong with that is, that they are not asking the right questions for the person who will actually be taking the course in the school system that they are advocating. That might be a great school for them but what about the person seeking help to choose the school for themselves or a family member? That is how trying to do a good deed becomes a conundrum. Most teachers want only to help the person pick the right school and what is right for that person for the long term. Other teachers only care about the money.
Now maybe you can understand why twenty years ago I produced the video “Defunkin’ The Funk About How To Pick A Martial Arts School”. Today, you can still download the original video at www.capkido.com/schools. This information is timeless and priceless, and the reason I know that is because it still sells to this day.
So if you know someone who is looking for a martial arts school, might you consider sending them to my website Capkido.com to download the information that is relevant to their cause?
