Tip #1 – You should always look for a martial arts instructor who will provide lessons about philosophy and a way of thinking to help you grow as a person.
Tip #2 – Find a martial arts instructor who will teach you more than only fighting on a strictly physical level.
Tip #3 – Seek a martial art that offers lessons about the essence of the ancient philosophies that apply to living in today’s society.
Tip #4 – Don’t be the guy that gets beaten up by thugs while trying to take his shoes and socks off to fight.
Tip #5 – Don’t pick a martial arts school only because it is convenient, is inexpensive, or because one of your friends go there.
Tip #6 – Before you pick a martial arts school you need to do at least these 3 things;
1. Watch a class. Don’t talk. Pay attention!
2. Listen to the instructor’s beliefs and values when you speak with them.
3. Take a trial period of classes, and always sign up for the shortest term possible.
Tip #7 – Don’t allow your martial art to be about being a bully and being overly aggressive. Make sure you and your children don’t end up in a martial arts school where they are taught to be excessively dominant.
